TENDER / QUOTATION NOTICE
Competitive tenders/quotations are invited from interested persons/agencies who are willing to undertake the operation and maintenance of Freedom Park and Rajendra Park, owned by Kannur Municipal Corporation, on a licence basis.
The sealed tender/quotation shall be sent by post or submitted directly so as to reach the Secretary, Kannur Municipal Corporation, on or before 3:00 PM on Monday, 05-10-2026. An Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of ₹10,000/- shall be remitted to the Corporation Fund, and the receipt thereof shall be enclosed with the tender/quotation, or a Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Secretary, Kannur Municipal Corporation, shall be enclosed. Tenders/quotations without the required EMD shall not be considered valid under any circumstances. Tenders/quotations received after 3:00 PM will not be accepted.
The tenders/quotations received will be opened and examined on the same day at 4:00 PM in the presence of those who are present. The final decision shall be taken subject to the decision of the Hon'ble Corporation Council and the Bye-Laws approved by the Council. Further details regarding the tender/quotation can be obtained from the Revenue Non-Tax Section on working days.
The highest bidder in the tender/quotation shall remit one-third (1/3) of the quoted tender amount to the Corporation Fund on the same day. Of the remaining two-thirds (2/3), one-third (1/3) shall be remitted on or before 30-04-2027, and the remaining one-third (1/3) shall be remitted on or before 31-10-2027.
All the terms and conditions relating to tenders/quotations currently followed and prescribed by the Corporation shall also be applicable to this tender/quotation. The Corporation Council/Secretary shall have the authority to accept or reject any tender/quotation.
The tender/quotation will be accepted only at a rate above the annual licence fee fixed by the Municipal Council for the operation of the parks. In addition to the licence fee, the licensee shall remit an amount as security deposit, as fixed by the Council. The said deposit shall be refunded, without interest, after the expiry of the licence period.
After approval of the tender/quotation rate by the Corporation Council, the licensee shall remit the approved amount and the prescribed security deposit in advance and execute the required licence agreement/contract. In addition to the licence fee, the licensee shall also be liable to remit all applicable taxes and other statutory dues prescribed by the Government from time to time. The authority to fix the entry fee for the parks shall remain vested with the Municipal Council.
If the above-mentioned date happens to be a holiday for any reason, the tender/quotation proceedings shall be conducted on the next working day in the manner stated above.
